Ram celebrates the Southeast Farmers of the Year

In case you haven't heard, 2013 is officially the "Year of the Farmer." It all started back in February of this year with a Super Bowl commercial from one of our favorite automakers here at Landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep. It was from Ram, it was called "Farmer," and not only was it the best spot of the big game, but it helped raise $1 million for the Future Farmers of America.

Since that time, their commitment to the cause has only grown.

Just last week, the Ram Truck brand and their Southeast Business Center (SEBC) were the presenting sponsors of the Farmer Appreciation initiative. In partnership with the University of Florida (UF), Ram raised awareness and showed support for the agricultural and farming communities in Florida through various activities during the Florida Gators football game against Vanderbilt.

If you're wondering why they would take such a vested interest in an event such as this, it's just what Ram does.

"When our SEBC teamed up with prominent agricultural universities and brands in the Southeast, we knew the Ram brand had to be involved," says Robert Hegbloom, director of the Ram Track brand. "Ram has been a long-time supporter of the farming community, and our current year-long celebration of the farmer has been a chance for us to give back to this vital community."1

In addition to the game day activities, Ram also awarded two of their trucks to the two winners of this year's Southeast Farmer of the Year award. Needless to say, it was not to be missed.

But in case it was, don't let it get you down. Feel free to learn more about how Ram is working to give back with a visit to our dealership here in Independence, MO. And since we can't let the farmers hog all the glory, feel free to follow suit with a spin in the 2014 Ram 1500. After all, farmers know best.
