2020 Jeep Wrangler for Sale

Nothing says 'Jeep' more than the Wrangler. It's illustrious history dating back to World War II and unparalleled off-road abilities are legendary. You can still see the design of the original first-generation Jeeps in the modern versions, but the Jeep Wrangler has always evolved to be a better model year-on-year.

The 2020 iteration of the Jeep Wrangler is an important one; many additional options are available, including hybrids and diesel versions of the iconic vehicle.

Both of the gas engines of the Jeep Wrangler are now available in an eTorque hybrid electric form.

What's New on the 2020 Jeep Wrangler?

A lot has been added in the 2020 Jeep Wrangler lineup. A number of new trim levels have been added, the gas engines have been revised, and there's a new optional diesel engine.

You can buy a 2-door Wrangler as a Sport, Sport S, or Rubicon. The Wrangler Unlimited is a different beast; a 4-door Wrangler. On the Wrangler Unlimited, there's an additional Sahara trim.

The Sport and Rubicon trims now get start/stop functionality. The Sport trim can now be optioned with LED lighting. The Advanced Safety Group package now includes automatic high beams and an 8.4-inch infotainment screen with navigation.

A 3.6-liter V6 is the standard engine and this can be paired with a mild-hybrid eTorque assist. A turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine is the optional gas engine, which too can be paired with a mild-hybrid eTorque assist.

Three new optional packages add the long list of Wrangler options. First, the Wrangler Freedom Edition makes a return. It's a military-themed trim package that makes the Wrangler look more like an army truck. A portion of each sale is donated to the USO.

A Wrangler Willys Edition adds some advanced off-road features - aggressive rock rails, a limited-slip rear differential, and 32-inch mid-terrain tires.

A Wrangler And Black Tan package adds a tan soft top and black exterior badging.

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler Diesel

Jeep enthusiasts are excited about the arrival of a diesel engine for the 2020 model year. It is only available on four-door Wrangler models paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Four-wheel drive is standard and there are multiple differential and transfer case configurations for heading off-road in the Wrangler.

The same engine is to be found in the 2020 RAM 1500 Ecodiesel. The diesel engine is capable of 260 horsepower, lower than the Wrangler's gas turbo inline-4 engine and 3.6-liter V6, but it's the torque that keen off-roaders will be most interested in. The new EcoDiesel Wrangler is capable of 442 pounds per foot of torque. Compare that to the 260 pounds per foot and 295 pounds per foot on the gas engines and you'll see how the 2020 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel is a gamechanger.

What is it Like Inside the 2020 Jeep Wrangler?

Like its exterior, there's no mistaking the interior of the 2020 Jeep Wrangler for any other vehicle when you've stepped inside. It's a masculine look that prides function over form, but this doesn't mean you can't equip the 2020 Jeep Wrangler with the latest modern tech.

If you've not driven a Jeep Wrangler before, you'll find the seating position to be tall and upright to give you a commanding look over the short hood. You sit closer to the windows than in an SUV. All of the controls are simple to use and reach.

The base Wrangler comes with a 5-inch touchscreen, and you can choose to upgrade this to a 7- or 8.4-inch touchscreen with Uconnect.

The base Sport interior is rugged and easy to clean. At the other end of the spectrum, the Sahara trim with all the additional leather feels almost luxurious.

Every Jeep Wrangler for sale in Kansas City is a convertible, but you decide how manual or automatic that process will be by choosing from one of many roof options. Opt for the hardtop ('Freedom Top'), and the panels are removable. Highway driving is quieter. Then you have two soft top options that make manually switching to roofless quicker. Their new design allows you to remove the rear side panels without removing the roof - good for better airflow while remaining protected from the sun. Finally, there's a Sky One-Touch that can be folded backward at the touch of a button.

You don't need to stop there - with the Jeep Wrangler you can remove the doors and lay the windshield flat on the hood. Why? Being able to infinitely modify your vehicle is just one of the pleasures of owning a Jeep Wrangler.

Driving the 2020 Jeep Wrangler

On-road, the Jeep Wrangler is a lot better to handle than previous generations were. We'd suggest that the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a more refined ride if you plan to only ever use your Jeep on the roads of Gladstone and Kansas City.

But you don't buy a Jeep Wrangler if you only intend to drive it to Walmart and back. Take the Jeep Wrangler off-road to unleash its true potential. The approach angle is 44 degrees, it has a ground clearance of 10.9 inches, a departure angle of 37 degrees, and a breakover angle of 27.8 degrees. With its five-link coil suspension and fully boxed ladder frame, it makes short work of any mountain track.

Four-wheel drive is standard on all models, and you have the choice of three different transfer case options pairing with a manual or automatic transmission. The Rubicon has the most capable gearing that'll allow for an 84.2:1 crawl ratio.

The Jeep Wrangler is like no other vehicle on the roads, and you may find that after a test drive you'll never go back to anything else. Many of our customers in Gladstone are hooked for life. If you're an adventurous type who needs a vehicle that will go on that adventure with you through thick and thin, the 2020 Jeep Wrangler should be your top choice.
